In the middle of crazy weeks and days and hours and I can't stop thinking about this blue we saw in these sand hills of west Texas. These words may be nothing more than ranting cause my brain has been on non-stop go for a while, but I really wanted to share these shots.
I remember turning in circles, looking through the viewfinder, and then over it, and just repeating, 'it's so blue!' Color is enlivening. I had never been to this little state park outside of my family's home town and I was entranced. These shots turned out exactly how I imagined them. I was using (for the first time) some higher quality film, Portra 400 I believe, and I was hoping and wishing and praying the blue would appear as I was seeing it. It did, so this memory is forever locked and able to be shared pretty much exactly how I experienced it.
This is what Christmas time in west Texas looks like. Warm and windy and surrounded by bright blue skies. We had a little bit of fun.
It's currently doing the Nashville usual - raining and gray - so come back blue skies, I miss you.
