I didn't keep up with the 52 week project, but I loved it so much that I think I might do it again next year. I thought, to make up for the last weeks, I'd put together a little collage of the year. This year has been full of life and learning, realizations and comforts. It's always hard for me to put aside being excited for the year to come just long enough to remember how good the past one was. But this task, I've realized, couldn't be more important. To remember the adventures, the work, the meals, the relationships - gained, lost, and grown - the times I laughed and the times I cried. These moments are what ground us in our humanity - something that is so important for our souls (and sanity). So let's use these last few days of rest and remembrance of the beautiful story of Christmas to not only look forward to the exciting or daunting new year, and remember all of what 2013 brought us - the good and the bad.
I hope everyone has a joyful end of the advent season and a happy new year!
